Huawei Cars: Every Brand and Model, Explained

Huawei does not build cars itself. It develops the HarmonyOS smart cockpit, the Qiankun ADS driver-assistance system and EV drive components, and partners with Chinese manufacturers under the HIMA alliance (鸿蒙智行): AITO with Seres, Luxeed with Chery, Stelato with BAIC, Maextro with JAC and Shangjie with SAIC. There is no official Huawei sales network in Europe — but several of these cars can be imported, registered and delivered by us today.

How Huawei is involved in cars — the three models

Huawei works with car manufacturers in three distinct ways. Knowing which model applies tells you how much Huawei is actually in the car.

HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, 鸿蒙智行)

The deepest form of partnership: Huawei co-defines the product, supplies the HarmonyOS 座舱 cockpit and Qiankun ADS, and sells the cars through its own retail channels in China. AITO, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro and Shangjie are HIMA brands.

Huawei Inside (HI)

The manufacturer keeps its own brand and sales network but integrates Huawei's full intelligent-driving and cockpit stack. Avatr (a Changan brand) is the best-known HI marque.

Tier-1 component supplier

Many other brands buy individual Huawei components — electric drive units, screens or software modules — without deep integration. These are not 'Huawei cars' in any meaningful sense.

Five HIMA brands exist as of mid-2026, each with a different manufacturing partner and market segment, plus Avatr in HI mode.

Which Huawei cars can you buy in Europe today?

Huawei and its HIMA partners do not operate a European dealer network as of July 2026. As an independent importer we deliver these Huawei-technology cars to Europe with EU registration and warranty:

Does the HarmonyOS cockpit work in Europe?

Core functions work independently of Chinese cloud services: navigation can be switched to European map providers, media, phone integration, voice control and the vehicle functions all operate normally. Some China-specific online services (Chinese app store content, some voice-assistant cloud features) are not available in Europe or require workarounds.

We develop software for HarmonyOS ourselves and test every imported model's cockpit, connectivity and over-the-air update behaviour on European networks before delivery — and we configure the car for your market as part of the handover.

05

Import, registration and warranty

Every car we deliver goes through EU individual vehicle approval, receives European registration documents and is covered by our importer warranty. Delivery, customs and homologation are handled end-to-end by us.

Frequently asked questions

Does Huawei build its own cars?

No. Huawei has repeatedly stated it does not manufacture cars. It supplies the HarmonyOS cockpit, Qiankun ADS driver assistance and EV components, and co-develops cars with partners: Seres (AITO), Chery (Luxeed), BAIC (Stelato), JAC (Maextro) and SAIC (Shangjie) under the HIMA alliance.

Can I buy a Huawei car in Europe?

There is no official Huawei or HIMA sales network in Europe as of 2026. Independent importers like Auto China deliver these cars with EU individual approval. We currently stock the Maextro S800 and Avatr 12 with online configurators and source other HIMA models on request.

What is the difference between AITO, Luxeed, Stelato, Maextro and Shangjie?

All five are HIMA brands with the same Huawei technology stack but different manufacturing partners and segments: AITO (Seres) builds SUVs, Luxeed (Chery) a premium sedan and SUV, Stelato (BAIC) an executive sedan, Maextro (JAC) the luxury flagship and Shangjie (SAIC) a volume mid-size SUV.

Does the HarmonyOS cockpit work in Europe?

Yes — driving functions, cockpit, media and phone integration work fully. Navigation is switched to European map data. Only some China-specific cloud services are unavailable. We test and configure every car for European use before delivery.

Is there a warranty on imported Huawei cars?

Yes. Auto China provides an importer warranty on every vehicle we deliver, and we handle service and parts sourcing. The Chinese manufacturer warranty does not apply in Europe, which is why the importer warranty matters.

How does registration work in Germany and the EU?

Imported Chinese cars are registered via EU individual vehicle approval. We handle the complete process — customs clearance, technical approval, documents and registration — and deliver the car ready to drive.

Auto China is an independent vehicle importer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorised by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. or its partners. Brand names are used solely to identify the vehicles concerned.
